Sterling silver wire and sheet hand pulled and mill rolled from ingot. The spring clasp is sterling, a commercial finding made in America.
The very detailed necklace has fifteen floral panels, nine measuring 1 1/8" in length (including the loop at each end) at 3/4" in width. The six (6) smaller ones are 7/8" long (including loops) X 1/2" wide. There are connections, each with a trinity of tiny silver drops, that strap the panels to each other, fashioning a delightful and very romantic floral chain. Fabrication of each flower, with its wire tendril, heart of silver drops and oval frame is a wonder of careful soldering.
Hobe's design and the artistry of the Taxco silversmiths are a tribute to the essence of what is feminine in every culture !

About the Artist | Hobé et Cie was founded by Jacques Hobé in France in 1887. While he was trained as a master goldsmith, his business focused primarily on finely crafted sterling silver jewelry. William Hobé, his son, moved to the United States around 1920 bringing his family’s acuity for producing high quality jewelry with him. He founded the Hobé Button Co. first and then a costume jewelry business called Hobé Cie Ltd. |
