Isle of Man Norwegian Forest Cat Coin

Having rescued an abandoned Norwegian Forest cat, this especially loving fellow was named Roscoe.  

Beginning in 1988, the Pobjoy Mint started a coin series in conjunction with their famous Isle of Man cat coin series.  The cat coin series has low mintages and incredible craftsmanship.  The reverse design also changes annually, a different breed of cat chosen, honoring the Manx cat that originated on the Isle of Man.

This island is located between Great Britain and Ireland on the Irish Sea.  Although completely independent, it does rely on the power and strength of Britain in times of emergencies. 

The  Isle of Man cat coin collection honors the history of this remarkable little island, providing a copper-nickle brilliant uncirculated coin.

The reverse bears the coin's weight and denomination, 1 Crown. The obverse design is of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the coin series' name and its date of mintage.

"Unknown artist" is appropriate when a work of art is unsigned and a supported opinion about who made it is not available (on Savvy Collector).. "Attributed to" precedes the name of an artist when information suggests that it likely was made by that artist (on Savvy Collector).
