About Hopi basket

Coiled baskets made from native vegetal fibers and dyes, are configured at Second Mesa villages--Shungopovi, Shipaulovi and Mishongnovi. Wicker baskets, made from native vegetal fibers and mineral and vegetal dyes, are produced at Third Mesa villages, including Oraibi, Kykotsmovi and Hotevilla in northeastern Arizona. If you are interested in learning the complete execution of these baskets, obtain Hopi Basket Weaving Artistry in Natural Fibers by Helga Teiwes. The photography is detailed and clear and the text is very informative.
