Navajo Woman Carding Brown Wool

Tom Yazzie

About The Navajo Woman Carding Brown Wool

Yazzie chose to depict genre scenes with his carved wood sculptures.  An expression all his own.

Carding wool is just one step in the processing of wool involved in Navajo weaving at a time when commercial yarns were not employed.

We herald the Navajo design sense in combination with the many steps involved prior to beginning to weave these textiles.
